Yes, you can rent out Fenway Park (and it’s easier than you think)

A Guide to Booking a Private Event at Fenway
Everybody knows Fenway Park. Far fewer people know they can actually host something there. Not “someday, if the company IPOs” host something. This year. A team dinner, a birthday party, a holiday party, a wedding. Fenway Park is one of the most attainable private event venues in Boston, and most people rule it out before they ever ask the question.
So let’s ask some questions.
Can I rent Fenway Park for a private event?
Simply put, yes – even though some people don’t realize it.
The Evergreen team has been hosting private events at Fenway Park for more than 15 years, with over 4,500 events in that time. We host more than 300 events annually, for groups from 20 to 20,000 guests, from intimate dinners to commencements to full ballpark buyouts. If you can think of an event, odds are we’ve done it here (if you don’t believe me, just ask!).
We’ve also heard every reason people assume Fenway is out of reach: You need a massive group. You need a massive budget. You can’t book during baseball season. It’s only for corporate events.
All understandable, but all just that: assumptions. Let’s disprove them one at a time.
How much does it cost to rent Fenway Park?
Here’s the honest answer: it depends, but it’s probably less than what you’re imagining. Fenway Park private event cost varies on a number of factors, including everything from the space you choose and your guest count to any enhancements you add and any catering needs. A full ballpark buyout is a larger investment (and worth every penny for an unforgettable experience). But that’s one option among many. With more than a dozen event spaces across the ballpark, there are venues sized and priced for gatherings to fit almost every budget and guest count.
The fastest way to get a true estimate is to tell us what you’re planning. We’ll match you with the right space and build from there.
Do you need a big group to host an event at Fenway?
Not even close. People hear “Fenway Park” and picture 37,000 seats, then assume their group of 30 doesn’t belong. But the opposite is the case.
Spaces built for small groups
Some of Fenway’s most memorable venues are its most intimate. Suite R20/R21 is a double suite connected by pocket doors, ideal for small to mid-size receptions. The Green Monster hosts up to 100 guests atop the most famous wall in baseball, with a view very few people ever experience. Or your guests could walk into the Ford Clubhouse from street level for a gathering of up to 75 people.
For a board dinner, a client reception or a milestone birthday, these – among many others – are small event venues with a setting no hotel in Boston can touch.
Spaces that pair together
For mid-size and multi-part events, we can combine venues. Pair the Right Field Terraces with the Sam Deck and you’ve got a multi-level event with sweeping outfield views. The Angry Orchard Terrace connects seamlessly with the 521 Overlook for an indoor-outdoor flow. What we’re saying is, your event can grow into exactly as much of Fenway as it needs.
Can you book during baseball season (or in the winter)?
Yes (and yes). Another common myth is that the Red Sox schedule leaves no room for your event, but in reality, Fenway hosts private events year round, including on many days when there’s baseball on the calendar. Some of our favorite events have guests watching batting practice from a private space before their reception begins.
And winter might be Fenway’s best-kept secret. Indoor venues like the Aura Club, our largest premium space, look out over a quiet, often snow-dusted ballpark that almost nobody gets to see up close. It’s the kind of view that stops a holiday party mid hors d'oeuvre.
Is Fenway only for corporate events?
No, though we host plenty of them and we love them, from conferences and trade shows to company holiday parties and more. But Fenway is just as much a social venue. Birthdays, weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, reunions, nonprofit fundraisers, graduation celebrations. If the goal is a gathering people talk about for years, the address helps.
How do you plan a Fenway Park event With minimal experience?
You don’t need to figure any of this out alone. The Evergreen team is with you from start to finish: venue selection, walkthroughs, floorplans, catering through our partners at Aramark, A/V support and every enhancement in between. You bring the occasion, and we’ll handle the logistics, timeline and thousands of small details so you can focus on enjoying your big day.
Already have a date or a guest count in mind? Start the conversation and we’ll take it from there.
How do we enhance our event to fully take advantage of Fenway?
Here’s where it gets fun. The things that sound impossible at Fenway are often the easiest yeses of the whole planning process.
Your name in lights
We can put a welcome message on the scoreboard: your company’s logo, your colleague’s retirement announcement, a happy birthday in front of the Green Monster. You name it.
Get on the field
Field access is a big one. We’ve hosted dinners on Fenway’s warning track, steps from the grass where legends have played for over a century.
Bring the mascots
Wally the Green Monster and his sister Tessie are available for appearances, and they have never once failed to make a room light up.
None of this is reserved for a select few. It’s all part of what makes an event at Fenway feel like yours.
Ready to Make Your Moment Evergreen?
You might think Fenway Park is unattainable, but for the right event, it’s the obvious choice hiding in the heart of Boston. Whether you’re planning a dinner for 20 or a celebration for 2,000, there’s a version of Fenway built for it, and a team that’s done it 4,500 times before.
