Led by Senior Vice President John Carter, the eight-person team handles all video production and output in the Red Sox organization. Whether producing a video for the team itself, getting something ready for fans to enjoy on the scoreboard during games, or, in our case, working with Evergreen's clients to put their customized messages on a scoreboard, the production team is on top of it all.

Your Production Options at Fenway Park

So, how can you take advantage of their expertise for your next event? Marcel Johnson, a Red Sox Productions Specialist who has assisted Evergreen's clientele since 2021, can help.

“Some clients just know about the main video board, but an easy way to maximize the whole experience is to tap into the other options,” says Johnson. “We have 10 LED boards, smaller boards, the Bank of America and New Balance video boards. So many ways to enhance the experience.”

Main Video Board

We have to start with the obvious option: The 100-foot-wide, 38-foot-tall video board sitting beyond center field at Fenway Park.

If you’re at a ballgame, you know your eyes find that board easily, and it’s the same way at private events. The Evergreen and Red Sox Productions team works with event hosts to personalize the video board, whether with a video or static image.

Hosts of all sizes often use this screen to welcome clients, punctuate a momentous event, recognize award-winners, and spotlight donors and honorees. Families, too, mark anniversaries and birthdays, and soon-to-be fiancés use it for proposals.

Johnson also points to Fenway Park's LED lights, which can match the color of an event. Those color-changing lights illuminating the park, he says, are the most impactful yet underutilized offering from the productions team.

One of the most memorable moments for Johnson came when Evergreen hosted a Star Wars movie night at the ballpark, and the Red Sox Productions team matched the color of the light with who showed up on the screen – such as engulfing the ballpark in red light when Darth Vader made his appearance. Those unforgettable LED light-centric moments can also happen with private events, Johnson says, when a host comes open to a creative approach.

“It’s important to understand all you can do to make it an even bigger moment,” Johnson says. “For me, every event that comes to Fenway is important.”
